Speed Demon

My pervious camera was a 5D mark 3, which has been a great camera. I shoot a lot of action sports stuff, skiing, dogs running in water, birds flying etc. However, with the mark 3 I felt like sometimes I just got lucky to get those perfect moments where body position was just right while the action unfolded. I wanted to upgrade to the next level so I could take out the guess work and feel more confident that I could get the shot. I really wanted to hold out for the next generation of the 1DX II as the camera has been out for while but the opportunity came up so I could afford it and I'm very happy I did. The camera is extremely fast, the dynamic range is great to push the ISO to have a higher shutter speed to capture action in low light moments. There seems like when you push the iso in low light there is less digital banding and distortion then the mark 3 and the noise feels like more film grain (I think but it could be just me).On the video side the focus tracking while filming video on a Ronin is sick! Things I wish it had or changes: a built in intervalometer, built in wifi, video should have the log feature that the 5D mark 4 has (crazy it doesn't). The camera sounds like a machine gun firing off but maybe that is just how loud it has to be being so fast. But dang its a fun camera to use for action!

Best camera ever!

I've only had this camera for a week and already my customers are raving about how awesome my photos looks. Yes, I consider myself a pro and so that has to do a lot about it but there's a HUGE difference between my Canon 5DM2 (which has been my working camera for the past 10 years) and my 1DXM2. I'm totally enjoying this camera. The clarity is just amazing.

Excellent camera

The Canon 1DX MarkII is an upgrade for me. I use it for sports and wildlife photography. There are a lot of things on the menu that I am familiar with from my 5D Mark II. An excellent camera that works well with the Canon line of lenses I have, and I will try it with a few different options of lenses for sports.
