The visit of quirky world-famous horror author Nathan Grimes to Star City is thrilling for Clare Henry and her grandfather Chester. As owners of The Rescued Word, they restore old typewriters and repair beloved books. They've invited Nathan to use their equipment for his next book. But when a tourist discovers an abandoned ski boot on the slopes with the foot still inside, Nathan can't help but join Clare and police officer Jodie Wentworth to track down a killer.
