Summer's Moon (DVD)

Wow. This is an awesome flick. I was a little bit doubtful because all of the Robert Pattinson films that have come out around the release of Twilight were disappointing, but Ashley Greene definitely lives up to her reputation in Summer's Moon. Summer goes looking for her father, has a one-night stand, and ends up getting kidnapped by the guy and chained up in his basement with other women he's abducted. Sounds like a normal story line for this type of movie. It's not. The guy's father comes home from a long-haul trucking run, only to discover that his illegitimate daughter has been chained up in his basement by her brother. The usual end-of-movie killing scenes ensue, and Summer is the only one in the family left alive, which is just fine because the rest of them were freaks. The combination of good acting, artful camera shooting, and just the right balance between suspense and action make this one of the only movies that I've actually wanted to watch again in a really long time!
