The WonderPana is a revolutionary lens hood filter system, which allows photographers to use filters on their Super-Wide Angle (SWA) and Ultra-Wide Angle (UWA) lenses. The system helps create the right lighting balance when capturing images using your UWA and SWA by giving you the ability to use filters on certain lenses where it was not possible to do so before. The WonderPana core unit doubles as a metal hood which gives added protection to the front lens element and the plastic built-in hood that is on many SWA/UWA lenses. The core unit is what provides the photographer a place to attach filters and a dedicated heavy duty snap-on lens cap to protect your unprotected lenses. The WonderPana 145 System will work with all Fotodiox Pro 145mm round filters; including Multi-coated UV filters, Circular Polarizers and Neutral Density 4, 8, 16, and 32 filters. Use of a polarizing filter, in the correct direction, will filter out the polarized component of skylight, darkening the sky; the landscape below it, and clouds, will be less affected, giving a photograph with a darker and more dramatic sky, and emphasizing the clouds. The benefits of polarizing filters are largely unaffected by the move to digital photography: while software post-processing can simulate many other types of filter, a photograph does not record the degree of polarization, so the optical effects of controlling polarization at the time of exposure cannot be replicated in software.
