I got this coat because I can adjust it with the straps since most clothes are too short for his back length on my toy poodle ( he has a 13” long back and a 14” chest, 8.5 lbs. ). I got the medium based on his measurements and it fits perfectly. I love the adjustable strap for the back by the rump to hold it down. His old coat sticks up back there and the wind/ cold can get in.
