Perfect split-like AC/Heater

I work from home and was spending a lot to heat/cool my whole house, when I spent most of the day working in just one room. I didn't want to go with a permanent mini-split, but a portable AC or regular window unit would be too loud while I tried to work. Then I found this unit. It is a little pricy, but I figure it will pay for itself in about 6 months. So far, it has been working perfectly. With the loud part of the unit outside the house, the "Quiet" mode is barely noticeable--quieter than a small fan. I was careful to follow the directions for leveling the unit and so far, I've not had any issues with leaking, etc. The fact that I still have most of the view out my window is a big bonus. Note: the width of of sill/wall the unit can fit over is ~12.5 inches, which didn't work with the window on a brick wall, but was fine on the wall with just siding--you may want to measure your window to be sure this will work for you. I ended up using a vinyl board to raise the top of the inside sill to be level with the outside sill, to make it easier to seal the opening, and another piece between my siding and the stabilizing screws, as recommended by another user. (There are some useful installation videos out there.) I would recommend this unit. I hope this brand will last for at least a few years. So far so good.

I like it heats and cools good. I hate that it nearly ruined my floor due to it raining out side and it coming across the unit on my floor. I bought these new and two of the three I got were damaged.
