Techno has undergone many changes since Juan Atkins first programmed his hi-hats and kick drums those many years ago. On LIDO HOTEL, Mathias Schaffhauser goes the minimalist route, for the most part with devastating results.

"Nice to Meet You" grips the heart muscle with its relentless machine motor funk, backwards loops, and random bursts of software noise. "Kurz & Gut" launches the listener into space with its jet-charged synths before plummeting earthwards with backwards cymbal effects and acerbic analog sweeps. "Loom Service" gets down and dirty, grungy bass snaking between opposing poles of piano notes, while a diva's wail gets lost amongst stinging electronic riffs. LIDO HOTEL is the place to visit when you want to get both mental and physical.
