Thank you "Jeffronc"! It's exact right that "When you first get this attachment you need to do a dry run on the slowest sped and see if the whisk hits the side of the bowl at all. If it does, you can use the adjustment screw on the main tower of the mixer to fix this". In my case I took out the back plate (it makes the wire tilt). Now I can use normally...No sounds!! I was almost throwing away my machine. I'm glad I didn't and see this review!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Response to all the "Broken wires" reviews

When you first get this attachment you need to do a dry run on the slowest sped and see if the whisk hits the side of the bowl at all. If it does, you can use the adjustment screw on the main tower of the mixer to fix this. It sounds like one reviewer is simply using a whisk that is too small for their bowl, because a 1/2 inch gap is not normal...

Disappointment

Bought my first kitchenaid couple years ago because it was the appliance to have and when I finally went to use the whisk one of the tines? were broken. Tried to fix it by putting it in the tiny hole hoping it would stay and now 2 of the tines are broken :(. So sad for such an expensive piece
