I buy these for the kitchen sink, for the disposer drain. I can't stand it when spoons fall down there, the sound is terrible. I won't put my hand in there, so I'm afraid the disposer will ruin a good spoon when my husband does the dishes and doesn't notice the issue. This strainer catches the little food pieces in the other sink, which keeps those pieces from clogging the drains or pipes, those pieces are easy to rinse into the disposer sink, so our drains run freely and smell clean. I put these strainers into the dishwasher every time I run it, they're always clean and shiny-looking.
