It didn't seem to do anything. You still had to clean the bowl.
This product is not an alternative to cleaning the bowl occasionally. The bleach cartridge is a disinfectant and helps whiten the bowl when you have had accumulation of line and calcium that has already stained the porcelain. The blue cartridge lines the bowl with a cleaning film that helps solid matter from sticking often but it's still not an alternative to not cleaning the bowl from time to time.
