i read all the reviews b4 i bought these boots. So in regards to them I have to say two things..... 1. They're BOOTS! 2. They were designed by the U.S. D.O.D.! They're purpose built for jungle warfare. Comfort wasn't a concern. Durability and traction were the goal. Definatly go down a size, maybe 1½. I've never in my life worn a size 9, till now! I'm a 10½ usually. Comfort is ok. I may eventually put a thin insole in them. If the soles come off or all the threads come out or something dumb like that I'll update this. But I'm happy with them.
