Product details
Resembling a bear's footprint, this tall large-leaved plant also forms bright, yellow flowers. This native perennial likes to have plenty of space and spreads easily over time. This native plant first gained recognition as a medicinal remedy, due to the research of Dr. J. W. Pruitt. In 1870, Dr. Pruitt introduced an ointment made from the root of this plant, used externally to treat a variety of complaints related to swelling and inflammation. Legend has it that Native Americans once used a similar preparation of the plant as a hair tonic. The common name comes from the resemblance of the leaves to the footprint of a bear.

Waste of time and resources!
We wanted to grow this plant as a screen for a couple pollinator gardens, but these seeds were useless. Very disappointed to say the least. We successfully grow over 45 types of plants on our small farm (including plants that require cold stratification) and these were the only seeds that failed to germinate... not even one seed. What a dud!
