Yescom 4/4 Full Size Electric Violin
For the price you can't beat it. I purchased a Viotti bridge and a dark rosin along with new strings when I ordered this. The Viotti bridge came pre set so there was no need for fitting which is the main reason I ordered it. The resin that came with the violin was busted when it arrived. No big deal as I prefer dark rosin anyway. The strings are not the best quality but for the price I would not expect them to be. The overall build and quality seems pretty good. The only complaint would be the pegs could have been fitted better. I will probably replace at some point but they work for now. As for the electronics they work very well. I have had no issues with them. I purchased this as a way to get back into playing fiddle. I have a pretty elaborate Home Studio and wanted something that would plug and play without breaking the bank. The unplugged volume is nice. Natural sounds without the resonation of a full body. So you can hear well but the neighbors are not annoyed when you hit that sour note :) I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants an affordable good sounding fiddle. Best suited for beginners or people who know enough about instruments to perform the upgrades. I also purchased a new bow simply because some of the reviews said the one that come with it is not very good. My opinion is the one that comes with will work in a pinch but the upgrade was worth it. All in all I spent $80 on this package and invested another $55 in upgrades ($135 total) and am very please with the outcome. I have played high end electric violins in the past and can honestly say this on with the proper setup performs comparably. The key is in the setup. If you are willing to put as little time and investment into the initial setup i think you will be very pleased.
