Just Fantastic!

These push-to-connect or slip couplings from Sharkbite is simply amazing! I had a leaking water softener but to replace the softener head I had to remove all the copper pipes by cutting it because it was all welded together. I cut my pipe at the inlet and outlet end and push these 2 couplings on each end and put everything back together. No leaks and just easy to install.

I'll never solder again.

A pin hole leak in a 1/2" copper pipe in the ceiling created a "mystery" stain in my Mom's ceiling. After hiring a roofer ($300) a handyman ($100), the source remained a mystery. After opening a hole in the ceiling I found the source - a pin hole leak. Not wanting to solder a coupling sleeve, I checked the local code and purchased a SharkBite slip coupling. It installed easily and solved the leaking problem. Great product SharkBite

Saved a LOT of Work!

I had to remove 2, 50-year-old corroded, copper shutoffs that were leaking in my daughters house. They were no longer needed. Of course they were right next to a floor joist, partially under the center beam, and connected to T-fittings on the other side of the beam. I also had dropped ceiling supports in my way. The hardest part of the job was getting the pipes by the beam cut, squared, and deburred. (Think Milwaukee Hackzall, Dremel, small files, steel wool. I'd have had to do this anyway if I were sweating in the new pipe.) Once the pipes were ready, the straight couplings and slip couplings worked like a dream. I can't begin to express how happy I am that I wasn't sweating in fittings up there!
