I was able to put this together by myself in just about an hour, but it was too heavy to move alone so I did need a second person to get it into place. I love how the top and the base have an extra decorative bit of ledge, I feel that it really elevated the look. The shelves are quite heavy and seem very durable, though they are definitely decorative laminate and not solid wood. The only thing I would have liked is to have pegs to cover the holes for the extra spaces to adjust the shelf height. I might consider painting them so they don't stand out quite as much. Overall I'm very satisfied and would definitely recommend this bookcase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The BBF Studio C 5-Shelf Bookcase is sturdy, sleek, and looks great in our living room. It would look fabulous in an office space as well. Easy to assemble. Instructions were crystal clear. I loved the attention to detail included in the assembly process. Each part was clearly labeled with stickers easy to remove without leaving any of the adhesive, which we all know can be really obnoxious. Getting the bookshelves in only took six steps, then it was time to nail in the cardboard backing. I hate this part of putting together bookshelves as I find it frustrating to properly align and nail in place. What is really cool and helpful here is the backing had pre-marked indentations where each nail is to be placed, providing proper spacing and an easy start to hammering in each nail. It even has markers running along the middle shelf so the backing firmly attached to the entire support structure, leaving a tight backing that shows the pattern of the wood grain as if it were solid. The bookshelf comes with three additional shelves that can be spaced using the convenient, solid metal dowels, which include plastic covers so the shelves do not get scratched. Five different spacing options for each shelving unit, excluding the load-bearing shelf attached while constructing the frame. This allows for a myriad of placement options if you have bigger books or items that need more height. We went with an evenly-spaced approach, and this was able to accommodate our larger books while still looking fashionable. The dark grey wood grain pattern is beautiful what I believe is laminate over composite wood that looks and feels resilient. While this is a composite-wood-based bookshelf, it is definitely on the higher end for quality and composition. The style is simple, elegant, and understated, giving it a nice minimalist aesthetic that can blend into a variety of design styles.
