The Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) is a miniaturized version of the DisplayPort audio-visual digital interface. Mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with resolutions up to 4K UHD Ultra HD including Full HD 2160P, 1080P, 720P.
This mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter lets you connect a high definition monitor, projector, or LCD that uses a HDMI connector or cable to a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air with a mini DisplayPort. The cable adapter can support displays up to 4K 2160P resolution and is ideal for your office, home entertainment display, conference rooms, trade shows, and more.

This adapter is NOT compatible with Thunderbolt 3 port
