Overall good dash mounted camera
I purchased this item in October 2015 and have used it almost daily since that time. It captures good video quality and has a small form factor making it easy to mount without obstructing your view. I have mine mounted behind the rear view mirror so it is not even noticeable while driving. Heating of the unit is a problem due to it being battery operated versus the newer capacitor equipped models that do not have an internal battery. The unit itself does not overheat but hot sunlight in your car especially when parked in the sun can cause the unit to shut down and not operate. To remedy this situation I remove the camera from the GPS windshield mount when not in the car but that can be a hassle. Overall this is a good reliable device and firmware updates are easy to download and install when they are released. I would purchase again.
problems problems
i originally bought two units because they were small and unobtrusive. one lasted about 6months and died. i then bought two more. one of the new units lasted less than 3 months. apparently what i'm reading about them can't handling heat is true. or for some other reason, they die after a short period. now i've got two in the trash, and two (hopefully) working for a while.
