Twice life-size, it was commissioned for Fairmount Park, by the Fairmount Park Art Association in Philadelphia where it still resides. Poised to confront, equipped to defend, turning from his saddle and contemplating with a brusque star, the Cowboy is the quintessential essence of Remington's life work. This replica is cast in the traditional "Lost Wax Process" with magnificent patina finish that is hand-applied for highlights that create natural variations in texture and color. The sculpture is then hand-rubbed to bring out the awesome detail and highlights. The incredible detail is a Remington hallmark. The sculpture is cast in 100% American bronze and mounted on a high quality marble base with an etched brass plate.
