Stop Handgun Violence, Vol.1

'Stop Handgun Violence' a non-profit organization, features a host of big-name acts rnhthusiastically contributing their songs to the cause. Offered among the album's 20 tunes are five previously unreleased tracks. These never-before-heard songs include a cover of the Bill Withers chestnut 'Lovely Day' by the mega-star Hootie And The Blowfish, as well as 'This Is My Life' by Toad The Wet Sprocket, a track which may prove to be the final word from these recently disbanded pop-rockers. Othe previously unreleased highlights are a live version of 'Good Old Days' by Fastball, 'Sharing The Night Together' by The Infractions; and a spirited ensemble remake of the '70s hit "Why Can't We Be Friends," recorded specially for this collection by singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards, Orleans veteran John Hall, rocker Jon Pousette-Dart, and Dr. Hook leader Ray Sawyer.
