I wish I could give 4.5 Stars. please note that I have only had this feeder hanging for less than 24 hours. I got sick of the squirrels hogging up all of my bird seed. this feeder looks very nice and feels like it is well built. time will tell how it holds up to the weather and use. I'm hoping the design keeps the seed from getting wet and clogged as you have to put quite a bit into it in order for all four of the openings to be accessible. the advertisements for this bird feeder are truly terrible. fake animals cut and pasted around the feeder. they really should have some true pictures. I watched one squirrel try over and over again and he was not able to get into the seed. I was afraid he was going to get his head caught in one of the loops that is made for the birds to stand on. for the most part, the smaller birds - Sparrow sized and smaller- figured out the feeder very quickly. however, my favorite Birds- the Cardinal pairs that I have in abundance- have not figured out how to use it and they may be too big for it. I don't think they would be too heavy but the way they would have to hang on to it in order to eat is going to be tricky for them to figure out. they will not be able to sit on the perch as it is designed and eat out of the feeder. they are just too large for that. also another design Improvement could be to make the cylinder a solid color instead of clear. some of the birds were confused and tried pecking at the cylinder because they could see the seeds. I know that suggestion has pros and cons because it doesn't allow you to be able to see the condition or level of the seeds. the birds will eventually figure out they can't get the bird seed by pecking on the plastic. my long time feeder has a much larger platform area that would hold many more birds at one time. this allows four Birds to eat at once, however I have not seen any birds using the upper of the two purchase. I almost wish that there were four purchase around the bottom but the birds probably wouldn't crowd that close together on them. it would be great if there could be a nice design of a feeder with a bigger platform but how to do that and keep the squirrels out? I will likely end up trying to find another feeder that keeps squirrels out but allows the larger Birds to eat. I plan to update this review Once I have had the feeder for a while and see how it holds up to the weather.

Very well built. Should last for a long time. Can't give it 5 stars yet, I haven't seen it attract Any birds for the first 4 days. Hoping to attract cardinals, but seeing any birds would be encouraging. It has been 10-20° and my birdbath recirculating pump stopped working. Also,no nearby water and nearest evergreens are about 50 feet away. There are abundant squirrels around and at least I haven't seen them even try to use this feeder. I'm reluctant to move it under the awning on the house because the squirrels would have many jump off points there. We are using black oil sunflower seeds, so once the birds(cardinals preferably)discover it, it'll be interesting to see if squirrels and predators might follow (hopefully Not). We will be patient for a few weeks before we might have to put it next to the house and maybe add some red pepper powder to repel the squirrels (RODENTS).
