Needs regular resetting of connection

I ordered a 1-to-2 switch and a 1-to-3 arrived. There were two ports on each side and none of them were labeled as "In" or "Out," so I had to guess based on the picture on the "instruction manual" (which was little more than one picture of each type of possible switch). It worked ok initially, but if I was ever away from my computer long enough for it to go to sleep, it would lose the connection and I would need to cycle power on the switch to reset it. I returned it soon after purchasing it.
