Swiss Army knife

This was a gift to my adult son. It arrived on schedule in excellent condition. You can't go wrong with a Swiss Army knife ~ my son will get lots of use from it. Would definitely recommend.

Save the day and always have this with you.

This is an every-day carry utility tool, a little something to deal with the unexpected and make chores a little easier. Can't say I've used it every day, but it's small enough that I have been putting it in my back pocket since buying it this week, and it has indeed been handy. Comes sharp and ready to use out of the box; Victorinox even oiled the joints a bit. This is basically the "tinker" with added scissors, and well-worth it at Walmart's price. The tools: "Big" and small knife, not sure what I'll do with two but so far I've only used the small blade for a few envelopes, I'll keep the big blade sharp for if I need that and work/use & sharpen the short blade as needed. The blades are "taller" and more substantial than the ones on the small classic Swiss Army Knife (SAK). Scissors are great, surprised at their cutting power actually as I cut easily through ragged strips dangling off the bottom of a coworker's work pants that were causing her to trip. Can opener has a large flathead screwdriver tip and a notch for pulling insulation off of wires, opened a cola bottle in a store fine and I look forward to using the wire stripper to bare some copper to set up my speakers once I move to a new apartment. Can opener has a small flathead screwdriver tip, you brace the "hook" end of the can opener under the outside ridge of the can and push the blade side down into the can, repeating by sliding forward along the can. That's it for tools along the "main" side of the SAK, which has it's dimensions defined by 3 "slots" for tools. The other side has a reamer/hole punch, parcel hook, and standard size Phillips screwdriver, and on the tip opposite of the big blade's hinge is the lanyard/key ring, tweezers, and plastic toothpick. The 3 "bottom" tools are hinged in the center of the tool so they stick out at a right-angle, which makes a great handle angle for pushing, pulling, and twisting things with a good grip & power. People look at the hook and wonder "what's that for?" and usually assume it's used for extracting fish hooks, but FWIR the tool comes from when newspaper bundles and packages came wrapped in twine; you hook onto the string and the SAK becomes a handle for carrying your package. I put a length of string that fits the hook onto my lanyard ring; I figure I can loop the string through heavy plastic grocery/trash bags and hook it so the bags won't cut off my finger's circulation. The other part of this knife is... It's just cool to have. SAKs have a long history, and probably somebody you admire has one, and it's an example of classic ingenuity. When I whipped mine out to help my coworker, another crew member said "You have a Swiss Army Knife on you? Could you possibly be any more manly right now?" (I could have been, if I didn't have to shave every morning ;) The scales just happen to be my favorite shade of red. It also inspires your confidence that you'll be just a bit better prepared, without overburdening yourself. Recommended, basically for anybody.

SAK super tinker

I owned one before this one. I had it and used it for over 25 yrs without a problem until the scissor spring broke. I was pleased to find the new one seems to be as well made as my old one.
