We love these vanilla beans, and they come packaged perfectly sealed so as not to dry out. We use several scrapings in our homemade ice cream. We are making some for the grandkids on Thanksgiving. We make 1 %26 1/2 gallons of vanilla bean ice cream and it's gone that evening. The adults and grandkids (ours are all in their 20's LoL) love it! I purchased these to make vanilla extract. They were moist and tender and full of paste. I cut the ends off so the beans would fit in an 8 oz bottle and used the ends for simmering potpourri on the stovetop. It smelled fantastic. The photo you're seeing is 20 days in.
