As promised!

I ordered a gas tank cap from Parts Geek for my 2001 Nissan Maxima. It arrived on time as promised and was delivered via USPS. Product was a perfect fit and, of course, in new condition. Will use P. G. again, as I have two other vehicles with a few years on them.

Easy to buy and perfect fit

I felt like an idiot when I realized the noise I heard after I drove away from the pump was me ripping my cap off. I was too far away to turn back. I panicked that it would be impossible to get a replacement for my 2003 car. Wrong. It was easy to find the cover and very, very affordable. It fits perfect. Whew. Problem solved

In my online research of how to remedy "boiling gasoline" caused by vapor locks, I learned that a very common cause was simply a bad fuel tank cap. Parts Geek had a gas cap on stock for my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, and at a great price. So I ordered one, it arrived within a few days as advertised, I installed it, and the problem seems to be fixed--saving me from expensive parts and labor costs at an automotive repair shop. The part did not come with a tether though, which is the only thing that could have been more convenient for my need. But I improvised by cannibalizing the existing fuel cap tether assembly. I removed it from its screw mount on the body, and then very carefully cut off the plastic protrusion that held the tether itself to the middle of the old gas cap (which allowed it to swivel). Replacing the tether over the reused plastic piece, I superglued it to the new gas cap, taking extra care to ensure the gas cap was free to swivel, and it works great!
