this is going to be a very helpful cookbook. it is full of low carb recipes for things that people WANT to eat. there are pancakes, pie shell recipes,,cookies you remember from childhood and very tempting looking chocolate cake. it's easy to follow. I'm going to sub out some of the expensive ingredients for more budget friendly options that will work just as well with a few minor adjustments. the only disappointment is that there are no carb counts or nutritional info for the recipes, so you'll have to crunch some numbers...or try asking Google. would recommend this book. would be a nice gift .

the best gluten free ever

I have tried all kinds of gluten free stuff in my search for sugar free also. This is by far the best cook book ever. The almond flour is the best alternative i have found to wheat and my picky teen even loves what I make. I really like that it uses a low glycemic sweetner that tastes wonderful. I feel like I am being bad when I am not.

Cookbook

There are a variety of practical recipes that I intend to make from this book. I've tried scones and brownies so far, and my husband and I really enjoyed them. The author suggest that you use high quality (finer ground) almond flour to make the recipes turn out as intended in the book. I think almond flour is expensive in any form, so I tried what I found for a reasonable price, including Bob's Red Mill, which is discouraged in the book. His does not have a fine texture, but it worked well enough for us. In fact, if you are not picky about having perfectly baked goods, but something deliciously edible, then go for what you can afford. I tend to adjust or change most recipes to my liking anyway because I believe that in this life, nothing is set in stone!
