This is an elegant product. The handle is functional and attached to the glass via some process. I use this product over the stove. The survey inquires about the whistle; there is none, so you need to watch so the water or milk does not overboil. That is understandable. Cleaning is not too difficult if you have a bottle washer. I use my hand to reach in to clean. Burned milk stains can be easily cleaned. I am not sure if it is dishwasher safe because of the wooden handle. It is glass, so it can break. Just be careful when handling. My wife is very pleased with it. I surprised her since she found a small glass kettle to warm up her milk. It would be great if the whole kettle were glass, including the handle, like our old one that broke by accident.
