Nice replacement brush

I have a set of vintage brass fireplace tools that I have used for over 40 years. A long time ago I was stupid enough to sweep up hot coals with my fireplace broom and burned up a lot of the bristles. This made the broom mostly useless. This year I got the idea to see if I could find a replacement brush that would fit my broom. The the plastic on this brush was larger than the brass cup on my broom, but it looked like there was enough extra plastic that it could be gut down with out loosing the bristles, so I ordered it. I was correct, and after cutting off excess plastic and reshaping the plastic part of the brush with a grinder the brush fit perfectly into the cup on the broom. My vintage fireplace broom is now good as new.
