Going, Going.............,case of the disappearing

My rug is still shrinking and is not 8 x10. Live in very dry climate which is playing havoc with rug shrinkage. Thinking about wetting edges and stretching under furniture legs to hold in place . Otherwise, furniture will have to come out further into room.
