If you are looking for a basic laptop for a student or some simple surfing and editing at home, look no further. The HP Stream 14 is everything you could ask for at a great price. The Stream has a large 14 inch screen, decently fast processor, enough core and expandable memory for most purposes, and a year's subscription for Microsoft Office 365. This is more than the average user will need. If you are looking to edit videos or play high speed processor intensive games, this is definitely NOT the machine for you. But, if you need to write a paper, crunch some numbers in a spread sheet, create a presentation for class or the office, or simply surf the net, you cannot go wrong with this laptop. Some of the basics include superior battery life, 802.11 fast wifi, three USB ports, an HDMI port, speaker/headphone jack, and a full sized SD card slot. I am able to get 6-7 hours worth of heavy use out of one charge of the battery. Traditional hard drive based units can only hope to last that long. The system installed is Windows 10 complete with Edge replacing the old internet explorer. Overall a stable setup. The real gem is the 1 TB of storage and Microsoft 365 that you get for a year. A subscription for that usually runs about $70 all by itself. With this laptop on sale under $170, that means you are only paying $100 for the laptop. That is crazy cheap for the quality of the unit and the included features. It is a great deal no matter how you slice it. So, is this a perfect unit? Like I mentioned earlier, it is definitely not for gaming or heavy use. It also has a weird setup for the SD card. Even when the card is inserted as far as possible, it still sticks out slightly. All of the other laptops I have used have some sort of internal spring and a press to release sort of feature to eject the SD card. I fear that one day I won't be paying close enough attention to how I handle the laptop and I will somehow break or damage the SD card. But I think that is a minor issue overall. This is definitely my new home laptop of choice and worthy of strong positive recommendation.

FANTASTIC LAPTOP! HP does it again with this fantastic laptop. I just can't believe how lightweight, and compact it is and yet has so much going for it in such a small space in my opinion. First of all, it comes with Windows 10, fully loaded, with all that great personal computer operating system has to offer anyone who is lucky enough to have it in their computer. Soo easy to understand, just turn on your laptop and "Cortana" is there to greet you with all her wisdom to walk you through everything, one step at a time. She listens to your verbal commands, you can do it manually too on the keyboard if you wish, and does what you want her to do. This laptop also comes with an Office 365 personal 1-year subscription included, which is great for those of you who need your laptop for office needs. This laptop has 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage which always comes in handy for loading in pictures, important papers, surfing the internet, playing games etc...I got the beautiful aqua color and it is magnificent. I can't tell you how, once again, compact and lightweight this laptop is and how wonderful that is. It is soo easy to handle because of it and takes up so little room. The screen is so crisp and clear and the colors just pop out to you, it really is a great laptop. I would definitely recommend this laptop to all my family and friends. You can't go wrong.
