Bran Muffins from the cereal

My mother-in-law made these bran muffins all the time. The entire family loved them. I thought I would take up the gauntlet and start making them myself. These are easy to make and they taste great. Even my granddaughter and great granddaughter love them. Some traditions are worth passing on.

Perfect to add fiber to foods you already eat.

Fiber cereal is not glamorous on its own, but I find it a good addition to other foods. Put some in yogurt or cottage cheese for some crunch. Put some in any cereal for added fiber. Sprinkle a tablespoon on ice cream for a nutty crunch. I prefer these "buds" as opposed to fiber powders because of the crunch appeal, and frankly powders taste like sawdust to me.

If you have the old recipe for bran muffins that called for Kellogg's All Bran (you can order from Walmart) and Nabisco 100% Bran (which they don't make anymore), you can substitute two cups of Kellogg's All Bran for the Nabisco 100% Bran. Pour the 2 cups of boiling water over the substituted All Bran and let it soak up all the water. The muffins taste just as great with the Kellogg's All Bran. Thank you, Walmart, for keeping me supplied with the Kellogg's All Bran. You made me so happy that I can still make my mother's recipe for bran muffins!!!
