2023 1/4 oz Gold American Eagle BU
The Gold American Eagle series has become among the most popular bullion coins in the community since its launch in 1986. These coins were the first Gold bullion coins reinforced by the United States government.
The obverse is modeled after Saint-Gaudens' design for the $20 Double Eagle in 1907 and is still used today as the picture of American coinage beauty. All American Gold Eagle coins are manufactured in .9167 fine Gold, with Copper and Silver incorporated to the Gold content to augment the sturdiness of these widely popular coins.
The United States Mint introduced new reverse designs for the 2021 American Eagle Gold coins, and the upgraded design is continuing into 2023. Mint AIP designer Jennie Norris created the new Gold coin artwork featuring the American eagle, which was then sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon. The obverse has also been modified with alternative details from the unique design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens to promote this unforgettable image.
