Beautiful but smells like skunk

The rug fits perfectly in our space and we love the design, colors and feel of the rug. Only bad thing is that it smells like skunk. I thought it might just need to air out a bit, but a month after putting it down and vacuuming multiple times, it still smells. Our dog loves sunning himself on it, too, but then he also smells like skunk after laying on it.
