Perfect condition, perfect story!

I loved this book. This book has so many levels. I've read all Cronin's books. The Passage trilogy made such a profound impact on me that I couldn't wait for his new novel. When I first picked it up I didn't love it, it seemed artificial and bleak. But as I read on it turned out that it was all on purpose. The world where the characters initially appear is artificial and bleak, but underneath it there is a real world of human emotion, love, and loss, that we only discover in the second half of the book. Beautifully written, the book explores the nature and fate of humanity on a cosmic level, and on a personal level of successful, and failed relationships, and on another level it explores the significance of dreams, and their alternate reality that our brains create. There's plenty of action and mystery and Sci-Fi too, for those who love it. In the end I found myself thinking that this is the best book he's ever written, at least I hope so far… Can't wait for the next one.
