A Bit of Input
The 8-input, 2-bus XENYX 802 has two XENYX mic preamps with +48 V phantom power, making it possible to use two dynamic or condenser microphones. The three-band British EQ is lauded throughout the sound engineering world for its warm, musical sound. You can use the 802's effects send and return jacks to hook up to an external effects processor.
Play music between sets via the RCA CD/Tape inputs (assignable to main mix or control room/phones outputs) and record your performance to an outboard recording device via the RCA outputs.

A Great Utility Mixer at an Unbeatable Price Point
I've used Behringer gear pretty frequently over the last 8 or so years, from the old MX series, newer UB series, and now the latest XENYX. The quality of the preamps is much improved over the older Behringer Mixers and the fade/gain pots seem less susceptible to scratchiness. I use this mixer to interface my Mackie HR824s with my Xbox, and as a headphone amp. It's not reference quality by any means, as indicated by the rock-bottom price, but it does the job. This could be used as a mic/line submixer, as a mixer for podcasting, or recording into a stereo DAW interface. For musicians, you could probably use this as a live mixer for a guitar/vocal, and the second pair of line inputs could be used for a drum machine/sampler, etc. I've had this one for about a year now and haven't had any issues. Recommended.
