Grand Tongo Insect Repellent Green Tea + Mint Bug Spray Pump 12 Hour Picaridin DEET Alternative Mosquito and Tick Spray

First off, it doesn't smell like typical bug sprays (and we've tried A LOT of different kinds. ) I loved that it came in a big bottle and we can use it on our children by only slightly modifying how we apply it. For adults, we sprayed it right on our arms and legs. For our kids we just sprayed it on our hands before applying it to their skin. With two quick clicks, the bottle top twists to expose the sprayer opening, which is a helpful feature. (This locking mechanism helps prevent accidental leakage when packed in gear and bags; if you've ever had a spray go off in your purse or camping bag you'll appreciate this immediately) The Green Tea and Mint scent smells sweet and fruity (a bit like a mixed drink or nice hand sanitizer scent) but it's not a heavy presence; there are two other varieties, including a scentfree type to suit the whole family! I had to get an inch or two away from my skin to even detect it. The oils left behind were very light and pleasant, like post-moisturized skin. The "quick dry" advertised is accurate. We couldn't really feel it, even with sweating from the heat and humidity during our uses. With a week of rain and 90°+ weather, our neighborhood was a bug's dream environment; next to a creek with plenty of grassy space, in a garden with veggies and fruits, and on our deck next to water catch trays from our potted plants and alcoholic beverages sitting out to lure mosquitos in. Not a single bite I could notice during each trial. We even included my partner who limits his time outside during these conditions for impartiality- he also was impressed at NO bites, no ticks during mowing trial, NOTHING! If your family is using a spray with an overpowering aura and weak coverage or duration, it would definitely be worth trying this brand. Our family was graciously given this spray to try as a part of a product test through the Stellar Product Panel. But we will definitely be looking to find a local source to purchase this brand when we run out of our testing box!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent for the past week, and I’m genuinely impressed. I started using it on our nightly stroller walks and weekend trips to the park with my toddler, and not a single mosquito bite since I started. That’s saying something because I’ve definitely been bitten already this season, so I know the bugs are out. I love that the spray goes on super easily. The button is smooth to press and the mist comes out evenly, making it quick and simple to apply (even on a squirmy toddler). It dries quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky or greasy residue at all. Honestly, once it dries, I forget it’s even there. The fragrance is really light and fresh when you first spray it, but it fades quickly, which I actually like. I love that it doesn’t smell like your typical bug spray. Bonus points for being DEET-free. That’s something I try to avoid, especially when using products around my child, so it feels good to have an effective alternative that I can feel safe about.
