Easy to use. And It allows us to build the fire exactly where we want it. Once you stack the wood with kindling and start the fire it gets quite hot within a very short time. It gets hot enough that it will burn wood that is not completely dry. It doesn't use much wood as it is not a large stove. Best fire pit on the market for your patio needs during the fall and winter
