This outdoor sandstone statue of the Buddha with the Touching the Earth mudra (meaningful hand positions) is beautiful and invokes a sense of calm and blessings to any environment, perfect for a dedicated meditation or yoga space whether indoors or out. It's about 2 1/2 feet tall, 25 lbs, aesthetically appealing, with a weathered finish. I have given the same statue as a housewarming gift to three people I love, and they all rave about it: one in Southampton NY, one in Newington, NH and one in Menlo Park, CA. In most cases the statue fares well year round on a deck, but I suggested to my dearest friend in NH that he place it on a wheeled plant container base, and roll it indoors when those nor'easter winds blow leaving 5 feet of snow to freeze solid on his deck until the spring thaw. He reports that since he put it in place, everything growing on his deck and the surrounding garden, his plants, vegetables and herbs are thriving as if on steroids, the butterflies, dragonflies and hummingbirds are frequent visitors to this wonderfully serene oasis.
