Awesome game, great improvements

This game definitely met my expectations. I played through the original, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and there were a few flaws which were fixed in this standalone expansion. Since it is very much the same as the original, I would recommend just buying this one over the first; you will get the same gameplay plus more options like meld, medals, and new maps. Just an extra tip: build satellite uplinks as soon as possible!
