If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, only use this medicine on the advice of your health care provider. Smoking can seriously harm your child. Try to stop smoking without using any nicotine replacement medicine. This medicine is believed to be safer than smoking. However, the risks to your child from this medicine are not fully known. Ask a doctor before use if you have: a sodium-restricted diet; heart disease, recent heart attack, or irregular heartbeat. Nicotine can increase your heart rate; high blood pressure not controlled with medication. Nicotine can increase blood pressure; stomach ulcer or diabetes; history of seizures. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are: using a non-nicotine stop smoking drug; taking prescription medicine for depression or asthma. Your prescription dose may need to be adjusted. Stop use and ask a doctor if: mouth, teeth or jaw problems occur; irregular heartbeat or palpitations occur; you get symptoms of nicotine overdose such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, weakness and rapid heartbeat; you have symptoms of an allergic reaction (such as difficulty breathing or rash). Keep out of reach of children and pets. Pieces of nicotine gum may have enough nicotine to make children and pets sick. Wrap used pieces of gum in paper and throw away in the trash. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away (1-800-222-1222).

If you are under 18 years of age, ask a doctor before use; before using this product, read the enclosed User’s Guide for complete directions and other important information; begin using the gum on your quit day; if you smoke your first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking up, use Nicotine Polacrilex Gum, 2 mg; if you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use Nicotine Polacrilex Gum, 4 mg according to the following 12 week schedule: Weeks 1 to 6: 1 piece every 1 to 2 hours. Weeks 7 to 9: 1 piece every 2 to 4 hours. Weeks 10 to 12: 1 piece every 4 to 8 hours; nicotine gum is a medicine and must be used a certain way to get the best results; chew the gum slowly until it tingles. Then park it between your cheek and gum. When the tingle is gone, begin chewing again, until the tingle returns; repeat this process until most of the tingle is gone (about 30 minutes); do not eat or drink for 15 minutes before chewing the nicotine gum, or while chewing a piece; to improve your chances of quitting, use at least 9 pieces per day for the first 6 weeks; if you experience strong or frequent cravings, you may use a second piece within the hour. However, do not continuously use one piece after another since this may cause you hiccups, heartburn, nausea or other side effects; do not use more than 24 pieces a day; it is important to complete treatment. If you feel you need to use the gum for a longer period to keep from smoking, talk to your health care provider.

How To Quit Nicotine for Long Haulers: This product comes in 22, 10-piece packs. A. Start with a new box on the first of the month. also buy a month's supply of any mint gum. On the night before, take out one tray of nicotine gum and tear off the top 4 rows leaving two attached pieces in the bottom of the box. D. Store your new, eight-piece tray with the the mint gum together with a small pair of a scissors. E. On the 1st morning, tear off the first piece of product as you usually would and chew as normal. but when the urge comes to use another piece, stay with the old piece a little longer and combine it with a small piece of the mint gum. Continue chewing. Toss out the tired "combo piece" as usual. Follow your urge for another piece as you normally would but when the urge comes for a new piece repeat step "E" above. F. That's it for month one. Try not to miss the mint gum. This process takes a little while but it will become cofortable for you in very short order. G. The interesting challenge is to see if you can go a whole day on 8 pieces without tearing into a new set of ten. You will get there. (DO NOT use the two pieces you have left over. Leave them in the bottom of the box and start over with a new tray. If you find that sometimes you only get to seven pieces, throw the last piece in the box at night and take out a fresh pack for for the next morning) When all the full trays are gone, go ahead and count up how many sets of two are still left - and take out eight pieces per day until they're gone. Congratulations! You are QUITTING NICOTINE. It may take a few months but eventually, you can try starting your days with a six-pack, leaving the bottom 4 in the box each day. Believe it or not, I'm on 4's - leaving six behind in the box each day. I like it. Feels "free." At this point I only take one or two pieces with some mint gum with me when I I got out for a few fours. This method works if if you work it. Start small. Win big! Give it a try. Ther's a very old saying thst still holds true, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

If you are using nicotine gum to quit and you are a regular (no menthol) smoker, I imagine this to be the most similar. No real flavor which I prefer other than a nicotine flavor. This is just as effective as the name brand and a lot less expensive. Good luck just remember you will want a cigarette for the rest of your life. That feeling will never go away. Accept it and let your choice to not smoke be yours.

This gum is very good. We've been using it for years, now. The only PROBLEM is, .... YOU NEED TO START DELIVERING IT AGAIN.... OR AT LEAST SHIP IT TO US. You have NO idea how much trouble this has caused us. We have Walmart , and I can no longer drive, nor can my husband.
