Key item features

  • A highly trusted brand, Firestone Tires has a full range of long-lasting all-season tires, performance tires, SUV tires, LT tires and winter tires. Firestone Tires are a part of automotive history. From their humble beginnings in 1900 to a brand recognized around the world today, Firestone gained notoriety due to years of work with Ford and other OE manufacturers, imaginative advertising campaigns, reliable products and a winning record on the racetrack. In fact, Firestone has been involved in motorsports since 1911 with the tires first appearance, and win, at the Indianapolis 500. They were also the original supplier for tires on the Ford Model-T. Firestone has now merged with Bridgestone Tires, but continues to make good, solid tires at decent prices, for all types of vehicles.
  • The Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter is an all-season tire specially developed to provide year-round traction, extended treadwear, fuel efficiency, and ride comfort. Ideal for coupes, sedans, family minivans, and crossover cars. It features a symmetrically designed tread molded with silica-enhanced, long-link carbon compound which promote easy rotation.
  • This results in the tires performing efficiently all while reducing noise and reducing treadwear. During rain and winter weather, the four-circumferential groove are very handy as it evacuates water efficiently out of the tires so it maintains a strong grip and create biting edges on the wet and snow-covered road surfaces. Gasoline savings are with these tires. 70,000 miles treadwear warranty.
  • The tire's internal structure includes a one- or two- ply (depending on size) polyester body casing beneath two wide steel belts with a spirally-wrapped nylon reinforcement to deliver durability, ride quality and stability for your daily driver. So to save money at the pump, and still get great safety and long-lasting value, the Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter is an excellent option.

Great Tires for me

I am very picky about tires; I need comfort and low road noise. These were great. Wore very well and evenly. Dry traction was fine. Not quite as good on wet surfaces as the Bridgestone Ecopia's they replaced, but about $30 less a tire, so that was a plus. Absolutely would buy again. Much better tire than the 170's. Great value.

Quite soft ride

I've only driven about 200kms on the tires so far but the corner well, nice and smooth. Pricewise they're great. Wont comment on Durability as I Haven't driven them too far. So far so good!

On my second set

My all time favorite Firestone tire is the LH-30, which I bought every time I could until they stopped making them. Compared to those, no other tire has ever excited me. The Champion Fuel Fighters are okay and a decent value. I got 90,000 miles out of the first set, but then I usually get more than the guaranteed life out of any set (I'm not a particularly aggressive driver - I drive for a living and don't care for spending my entire day trying to compete with everyone who believes freeways are race tracks). I had hoped to get another summer out of these and replace them in the fall just before winter, but they started squealing on freeway entrance ramps and I was an easy sell. I did not notice much if any difference in gas mileage compared to any previous set, usually low 40s in summer and high 30s in winter. I recall only once did the vehicle have a hard time negotiating a hill in winter with these tires, but it was snowing very hard and every other vehicle was also having difficulty getting up any kind of grade.
