great track tire

Hands down the best tire ive used for autoX. Ran on both my C prepared 1982 Rx-7 and H stock 2011 mazda 6 for autx events as well as lapping days. Awesome grip! (at the expense of road noise and life expectancy/wear) Helps me keep up to and even pass some of the big boys

Best tire for short course events

I have a BRZ that I daily drive and also track. I bought the RE-71R based on reviews and also saw them a lot at local time attack events. I have 17x9 wheels and 255/45/17 squared for tires. I love how it drives and handle on track! They go up to temp really fast and grip like Im on rails! I also tried Michelin Pilot Cup to compare. They are good but not meant for short track event. They take way longer to get to temp. In conclusion, Time attack or autocross, this is the tire of choice for me. Don't expect them to last very long they grip a lot and they wear fast. Im happy they lasted me 5 months of daily driving and 5 events mostly time attack.

Outstanding Street-class Autocross Tire

I've competed in autocross events regularly for the last fifteen years. I've run many vender's R-comp tires. The 200 treadwear RE-71R seems to nearly match the dry performance of several of the R-comp tires and in my opinion, maintains that outstanding performance through twice the R-comp life on a heavier "pony car". I'm driving a 2015 Mustang GT with performance pack, Koni's, and larger anti-sway bar on 285 x 35 x 19 (Rear) and 265 x 35 x 19 (Front) RE-71R's. I consistently record lateral g-forces in excess of 1.15 g's through 50 - 60, (approximately 0.8 mile) autocross runs on concrete. If you want to be competitive in the SCCA street classes, I recommend these. I'm on my third set. My reported mileage may appear low, but I count autocross runs to evaluate my autocross-purposed tires. These hold up very well.
