I'm extremely happy with this purchase and will continue to buy these

I read some negative reviews of the single case item and was a little worried about negative points that other buyers brought up, so allow me to address those issues: 1. 'It's too heavy' - The cases are no heavier than you should expect compressed wood with metal fittings to be. Just imagine it as a small two shelf bookcase. That's about the weight of the unit. I'm by no means a strong guy, but I had no problems lifting the unit by the handle with one hand. No, they aren't extremely mobile when full. But, I would question the intelligence of anyone that would think something carrying 150 LP's is going to be 'mobile'. That being said, I can still pick up the full boxes and move them. Having moved my collection into three different homes, I'm extremely happy I won't ever have to scramble for strangely sized cardboard boxes again or have to worry about sitting things on top of my records during a move. Just pick 'em up and go. 2. 'They smell like chemicals' - I noticed a slight smell inside the box of industrial glue, but nothing overpowering. I left the boxes open in the warehouse at my work for a few hours before taking them home and haven't noticed the smell since. 3. 'They are poorly constructed' - Here is the only place that takes my star rating down, though again not as much as some others made out. The hinges on the lid are not hard screwed in. This is actually a benefit for me, because I can take the lid off fairly easily. You just have to be careful when opening and shutting the case. One of the two boxes I received did have a pronounced crack along the inside bottom, presumably from a screw snapping the interior wood. I don't think it is anything more than cosmetic and won't damage my records, so I'm not ultimately concerned about it. Now, there are several benefits to these units that I haven't seen elsewhere in LP storage. First, they hold a lot of records and are meant to do so. Anyone that has tried to wrestle with jerryrigging their existing furniture into vinyl storage knows exactly how frustrating that can be. However, it is just as frustrating trying to find anything that is designed for vinyl storage and holds more than 75-100 LPs, and doesn't cost $500 or more. Even cardboard boxes sized specifically for vinyl seem to be outrageously overpriced. This is the rare find where vinyl storage seems to be fairly priced. Second, the boxes do look great. Third, you can easily stack these for larger collections and the individual size isn't so big that they wouldn't fit easily in a closet or under a higher rising bed. Fourth, these allow you a front view of the albums as your flipping through, rather than the spine view (this was a key for me). Fifth, the individual columns aren't so big that they make managing the records inside them a hassle. Finally, the shipping was incredibly fast. I ordered these on a Wednesday morning and received them on Thursday afternoon (it should be noted that I live in the Midwest). One thing I will note for prospective buyers is that I would not plan on actually putting 200 albums in the boxes. It is theoretically possible, but for ease in looking through your collection, plan on putting about 100 LP's in each box and certainly no more than 150. With plastic sleeves, I put just over 90 records in each box leaving just enough space to still flip through the albums. Altogether, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and will continue to buy these as my collection grows.
