The Yakima StepUp 1.25 is a high-capacity platform rack specifically engineered for 1.25-inch hitch receivers. It carries two bikes up to 65 pounds each on paved roads, providing a heavy-duty solution for e-bikes, fat-tire, and mountain bikes on vehicles with smaller hitches. This 130-pound total capacity ensures stable transport for diverse bike styles while maintaining a streamlined profile that clears the vehicle’s tailgate. Loading is focused on speed and frame protection. The StrongArm hook anchors the front tire to ensure zero contact with paint or carbon fiber, while a flip-away rear strap facilitates faster unloading. To prevent mechanical interference, the StadiumSeating architecture tiers the bike trays for improved ground clearance and handlebar spacing. Optional offset positions allow for further fine-tuning of the bike-to-bike fit to accommodate different frame geometries. For vehicle access, a remote 3-position tilt lowers the rack to clear the trunk even when fully loaded and folds flat when not in use.
