Purchased this for my 6 year old stepson. He's very excited to get it built, but I will say, it's a little advanced for his age so he's needed a lot of help from us even with the instructions. My husband and I love this set and it's a really great piece once it's finished. It's just a lot of steps getting there with this particular one.

POPPA'S two stars valuation of the assembly images
The instructions obviously use pictures for assembly. The problem I had with the pictures was the INCORRECT coloring of the MANY pieces that I had to match to the booklet's instructions for assembly. Many pieces were SIMILAR in shape and length. The colors of these pieces differed; however, the booklet's images were NOT always colorized correctly. This forced me to proceed slower than normal. It's SAD that the LEGO company's techical writers were not precise in their colorization of the pieces within the booklet.
