About Jack Daniel's - Walmart.com
What's the difference between bourbon and Tennessee whiskey?
Tennessee whiskey and bourbon are made with the same amount of corn mash, and both must be stored in charred new barrels while aging. Tennessee whiskey undergoes an additional step between distilling and aging, called the Lincoln County Process. Tennessee whiskey is filtered through charcoal using a slow-drip method to mellow the flavor. For this reason, bourbon has a brighter, bolder taste than Tennessee whiskey.
What do the designations Straight and Bottled-in-Bond mean on a bottle of whiskey?
A whiskey labeled Straight tells you the whiskey was aged at least two years. A bottle labeled Bottled-in-Bond means the whiskey was aged at least four years.
What are some ways to add Tennessee whiskey to recipes?
Combined with sauces, Tennessee whiskey makes a wonderful marinade. Add whiskey to barbecue sauce and baste on grilled beef or chicken. Combine with pineapple sauce and brown sugar to coat a ham. Simmer some whiskey in your baked beans with maple syrup, bacon and onion. Tennessee whiskey sauce makes bread pudding a quite delicious, very grownup dessert.
