Getting started with lacrosse requires a few essential items. However, the list of equipment is different depending on the gender of the players.

In boy's lacrosse, the most important thing is safety, and players must have all of the correct protective gear, including a helmet, pads, gloves, and a mouth guard. Helmets offer full cranial protection and are adjustable to get a good fit.

Girl's lacrosse is a non-contact sport, so players don't need as much protective gear. They usually need a pair of goggles that fit snugly, a mouth guard, and gloves.

When choosing a lacrosse stick, the primary consideration is the playing position. Offensive players use short sticks, while defensive players use long sticks. The exact length depends on the height of the player. Common stick materials are titanium, which is the strongest option and provides more power, and aluminum, which is the most lightweight option and provides better control.
