Can I recycle paper plates?

Paper plates are not usually recyclable, despite being made from a material that is often an environmentally friendly option. Most paper plates are coated in wax or plastic to make them more durable and moisture resistant and this means they are not able to be recycled.

Can I put party plates in the microwave?

You can put paper and plastic plates in the microwave if they are labeled microwave safe. If not, it’s best to avoid putting them in the microwave in case they are covered in a plastic coating that may melt. You also cannot microwave any plates or tableware made of foil or with a foil coating.

Can I reuse plastic plates?

Yes, you can reuse plastic plates if they are still in good condition after use. Just give them a wash with washing up liquid, dry and reuse.
