Can I reuse a gift bow and ribbon?

A gift bow can easily be taken off an opened present and re-stuck onto another one using a tape loop or double sided tape. If a ribbon has been not been cut, but the bow undone, it can surely be used on another gift of similar size or cut down to a smaller gift.

How do I measure how much ribbon I need for a present?

First, measure the dimensions of the present. You should have a length, a width, and the height of the box. The amount of ribbon you need should look something like for the length is 2l + 2h and the amount for the width is 2w + 2h. In order to make a bow, add an additional amount of ribbon to each end to tie the bow together. You can use some string to measure everything out beforehand to find out how much you need for the bow.

Can you recycle used gift bows and ribbon?

Plastic gift bows are too small and the plastic too thin to be recyclable, and should be put in the trash. If you have no use for any other material ribbon like fabric or satin, they cannot be recycled and should use be disposed of in the trash.
