How do I keep my dyed cupcake liners from fading in the oven?
If you are using dyed cupcake liners, you may note some color alterations after the baking process. Not all dyed liners do this, and some shades are more prone than others to fade or change color in the oven. Look for liners labeled greaseproof, glassine, or foil. To help prevent fading, try to avoid overcooking your cupcakes and remove the cupcakes in their liners from the pan immediately after done baking to cool as soon as possible.
How do I prevent cupcakes from sticking to the pan?
Always spray your muffin tin with cooking spray before baking, even if it’s a nonstick pan. You can also wipe the cups down with a little coconut oil, vegetable oil, or butter. If you use cupcake liners, you do not need to use any sort of cooking spray. For some baked goods, you can both oil the pan and dust lightly with flour before adding your batter.
Does it matter if I use parchment or foil cupcake liners?
Foil cupcake liners are sturdier and will hold up better. For muffins and cupcakes that pop over the top of the pan, foil liners may provide a better foundation. Paper liners aren’t as stiff, so they likely won’t provide as strong of a hold as foil liners. Both liners will keep muffins and cupcakes from sticking, and both liners come in different colors and patterns. Some people prefer foil for a more professional look.
