What baby furniture is essential for the nursery?

Certain items are considered essential, such as a crib, changing station, and somewhere to store baby clothes, such as a set of drawers. Other important items include a nursing chair, organizational shelves or storage units, and toy boxes.

Will I need a bedside crib sleeper?

Whether you choose a bedside crib sleeper or a traditional crib is a matter of choice. Some favor a bedside crib sleeper because it allows you to have your baby sleeping close to you in a safe way, making feeding and comforting during the night easier as your baby is able to reach out to you. Others prefer the privacy and separation a traditional crib provides.

Do I need a Moses basket if I have a crib?

While they are both places to sleep, a Moses basket and crib are not the same. A Moses basket is portable so you can carry it from room to room during the day so your baby can be close to you. Use one during the day for naps, or while a baby is very small and not yet ready for a crib.
